The bottom line is that the NFL Shop is trying to pull a fast one here.

By "Authentic," they mean that the jersey itself is authentic, not the numbering. If you pay close attention to the numbers on the chest and backs of the jerseys that players wear on Sunday, they are thicker, almost bolder in appearance. The chest and back numbers on this jersey are decidedly thinner.

Same goes for the numbers on the shoulder - the numbers on AUTHENTIC jerseys are bigger and wider; the shoulder numbers on this jersey are smaller and thinner.

What makes it especially disappointing is that the NFL Shop's graphic artists seem to have gone to great lengths to "dress up" the numbers on the imagery used to promote this jersey in hopes of making it look "authentic." They're hoping that you'll either not notice or not care when it arrives.

Shame on you, NFL Shop.
