This mat is a tough product and will withstand use (I think---haven't actually used it yet, but construction seems pretty solid.) I had hoped it would be a little softer or have higher pile, so my son could actually throw himself onto it when/if his Bears are not doing well. As it is, the texture will not lend itself to lounging. The design is great and I am pleased overall. On sale, this was a great buy!!
