I love this ball. I won't be using it outdoors purely because of the fact that I think it's too precious!! But some of the reviews suggest it doesn't hold up in the rain and it looks and feels like it won't. But I wouldn't be buying this ball for use on bitumen or muddy wet fields, just like you don't use expensive leather basketballs on the street.
Same goes for my other game, cricket. You don't use 4 piece leather balls for practice or on astro turf pitches.
If you use it for the surfaces it's designed for, then there is nothing better!!

If you call yourself a football fan you have to get this football. Every time you throw it catch it or kick it you feel like a NFL player. I play with it all the time and I am so happy I got this one because I won't find a better one.

This football is very nice when it comes to the leather and laces, etc. But you will soon find that after a backyard game or two on asphalt that pretty leather quickly becomes torn up and rough to the touch. Also the first time it got wet the red dye got all over my hands and the texture became gritty.

I use the products when playing with friends. We play a lot. The ball has a great feel to it and the authenticity makes you feel like a "pro". We really became attached to this ball, the only one we'd use but we used it in the rain. Maybe a stupid move considering it is leather, but I would've expected a little more durability from it. After the game, it stayed wet for a week, impossible to dry up. It quickly became discolored, ungrippable, and flat. Tried pumping it up, but couldn't get it back to same shape and feel. Ball was very hard to throw and catch so I just wanted to give fair warning to you potential buyers not to use it in poor weather conditions. I was very annoyed that I had basically just threw away [$]. It is definetly worth the money though, as long as you keep it in tact.

This ball is made to be used, not stored and saved for autographs. It's actually light and a normal person can throw a spiral with it. When you receive it one of the first things you will do will be to smell the authenticity of the leather and have a feeling that you own a ball that qualifies to be used in an NFL game. It doesn't get any better than that. Only use it on grass to avoid nicks and scratches.
