This DVD set does not capture the SuperBowl experience for the following reasons:
- The SuperBowl is crammed onto one disc.
- None of the pre-game show is included.
- The player introductions are not included.
- The commercials are not included.
- The half-time show is not included.
- No post-game commentary or interviews are included.
- The program is not in high def.

Would some production company please create a two DVD set of SuperBowl XLII with the following features?
Disc One:
- Pregame show highlights
- Player introductions
- First half with commercials

Disc Two:
- Half-time show
- Second half with commercials
- Post game interviews and celebration
- Additional commentary

People will buy it. You will make a lot of money.

Yes, I know. I have already reviewed this product twice, but this is my third and final review of the New York Giants Road to Super Bowl XLII Post-Season Collector's Edition DVD set. I'll start off my final review with the pros, then the cons.

Pros:
-all the games are in their original broadcast
-you have Michael Strahan's commentary(it is actually very enjoyable)
note*-their "original"broadcasts are not in HD(their original format before they were release on the New York Giants Road to Super Bowl XLII Post-Season Collector's Edition DVD set)

Now the cons.

Cons:
-Their are no commercials(including the Super Bowl XLII commercials)
-It doesn't have Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Super Bowl XLII halftime show
-They don't include the Super Bowl XLII champions, New York Giants, Vince Lomdari trophy Presentation
-The games aren't in HD(their original broadcast and not these "original"broadcasts)

Basically you just have the games and noting else. But even thought you just have the games you also have more. You have the great moments from each of the games, you have all of the plays from each game(s), and you also have all of the legendary drives from each of the games. Anyways, I last gave this New York Giants Road to Super Bowl XLII Post-Season Collector's Edition DVD set a 5/5 on my previous review(My 2nd review. This is my third and final review), but I might been just a little exaggerated. I now give this New York Giants Road to Super Bowl XLII Post-Season Collector's Edition DVD set a 4/5 stars because it gives us all the "original"broadcasts of each game, but noting more.

Pros:

This is a great product if you're looking to have the last regular season game, all the playoff games, and the super bowl, then this is the DVD set for you!

Cons:

There are a few reasons why I am VERY disappointed in this product...

1) It has not been released in Hi Definition Blu-Ray, which in this day in age is rediculous. Especially since the game was originally produced and broadcast in HD!

2) On the DVD's, this format is 4:3 (Standard Definition). I could see if they released this set on DVD with the format being 16:9 so that a Blu-Ray player or HDTV set could upscale it properly to fill the screen. With this DVD set being in 4:3, you'll still have the black bars on the sides.

3) Quality...Since I'm in the television industry, maybe I'm more picky than most, but when I buy a DVD set like this...I expect quality. Again, I am very disappointed. You can tell that the games were recorded in a deck because you can see the VITC data at the top of the screen...(VITC=Vertical Interval Time Code)...which is rediculous. The other thing is that since a standard movie on DVD is approximately 2 hours long and an NFL game is 3 - 4 hours long, the makers of this DVD set obviously had to compress the video beyond belief to make each game fit on a single DVD. Again, this compromised the quality of the video.

4) The team introduction videos were cut out of the DVD that has the Super Bowl on it. It only shows the teams taking the field at the beginning. Additionally, the half time show was not included on the Super Bowl DVD either.

Great dvd set and Michael Straham's comentary was excellent. However, none of the after game celebration, comments, awarding of the Lombardi Trophy are shown. I guess that is on the other video. It is a shame it is not included on disc 5.

They said they couldn't do it. They said they couldn't beat the Dallas Cowboys, the Green Bay Packers, or the undefeated New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, but they did it and they did with teamwork(not referring to the New England Patriots "teamwork" Super Bowl XLII introduction), courage, and leadership. They started off 0-2-0 in the regular season, then came right back to 6-2-0 and finish off the regular season by losing to a team that gave them the necessary confidence in the post-season in week 17, the undefeated New England Patriots, 38-35 in the so-called "meaningless game."After the regular season finale they in bark on a quest for perfection just like the undefeated New England Patriots, who were going for 19-0-0 and also trying to become the second straight team to go a perfect season since the 1972 Miami Dolphins(17-0-0). Their Wild Card game was against the Tampa Bay Bucs(9-7-0), at Tampa Bay, in 75 degrees(77 degrees in the 2nd half). They won 24-14 and moved on to the Divisional game against the #1 seed, Dallas Cowboys(13-0-0), in Dallas. In the 1st half of the Divisional game, the New York Giants score first to take a 7-0 lead against the Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys soon woke up and answer the New York Giants opening drive and tied it 7-7. With 48 seconds to go in the 2nd quarter, Eli Manning drove his team down the field to a touchdown(only took him exactly 37 seconds)after Tony Romo lead his team to a drive that took more than 10 minutes off the clock(starting from the Giants own 10 yard line)to tie the game again at 14-14. The Giants eventually won in the 4th quarter over the Dallas Cowboys, 21-17, and moved on to the NFC Championship game against the #1 seed, Green Bay Packers(13-3-0), in Green Bay. In overtime, the score was 20-20, the Green Bay Packers had the ball, Brett Farve throws the ball and it is intercepted! A.J. Feely is trying to kick a 47 yard field goal to kick the Giants into Super Bowl XLII. He kicks it! Its going to right... turing left... A.J. Feely has kick the Giants into Super Bowl XLII! Super Bowl XLII, February 3,2008, the New York Giants(13-6-0), vs. the undefeated New England Patriots(18-0-0), who wants it more? 2:42 to go in the 4th quarter. The score is 14-10, Patriots lead. 1:15 and it is 3rd & 5. "Pressure by Thomas off the edge... Eli stays on his feet... Airs it out down the field... to David Tyree!""Eli lobs it... Burress alone.. TOUCHDOWN, New Yprk! Final score: New York Giants(14-6-0)-17, New England Patriots(18-1-0)-14. These are the moments in this New York Giants Post-Season Collector's Edition DVD set that make it historical and a unforgiving masterpiece. Their 2008 playoff run and their final drive in Super Bowl XLII was also a masterpiece that I will never, ever, forget. That's why I gave this New York Giants Post-Season Collector's Edition DVD a 5/5. I would have given it a 6/5 if it had the Super Bowl XLII commercials and halftime show by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, but hey 5/5 still good!

LONG LIVE THE NEW YORK GIANTS 2008 PLAYOFF RUN(including Super Bowl XLII)AND THE 1972 MIAMI DOLPHINS(17-0-0)!

I just got the New York Giants Road to Super Bowl XLII Collector's Edition DVD set today and it is awesome! The best part about this historic DVD set is that each game(including Super Bowl XLII)has its original broadcast and all 4 quarters of each game! Now this is my first road to a super bowl DVD set that I purchase and I have to say its better than the NFL's America's Game DVD sets that I always buy! That being said, I still think the America's Game DVD's set are still good in their own right. Now let's go on to my review on the New York Giants Road to Super Bowl XLII Collector's Edition DVD set. I give it a 11/10 because:

-It includes 5 disc(s). Disc #1 features the final regular season game against the 15-0-0 undefeated New England Patriots, Disc #2 features the Wild Card Playoff game against the Bucs, Disc #3 features the Divisional Playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys, Disc #4 features the AFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers(Brett Farve's last game), and Disc #5 features Super Bowl XLII.
-It has each game in their original broadcast
-You get to relive the New York Giants road to perfection in the post-season(including Super Bowl XLII)
-You get to relive the New York Giants stunning upset in Super Bowl XLII over the previously undefeated New England Patriots
-You get to relive Eli Manning's and David Tyree's miracle on 3rd & 5 with 1:15 to go in the 4th quarter of Super Bowl XLII

Now, their are other things as well on the New York Giants Road to Super Bowl XLII Collector's Edition DVD set that I haven't talked about, and that's only because I watched one game re-air so far. Which was the regular season finale on December 29,2007 against the 15-0-0 New England Patriots(final score: New England Patriots-38, New York Giants-35). Overall, it is a GREAT and HISTORICAL New York Giants DVD set that I will treasure forever and ever.

I have been looking for the broadcasts on the internet--this is perfect, except the lack of high definition disc availability. Because I love Big Blue I'll buy this plus if you come out with the high def discs, I'll get those too. Now bring me broadcasts of the other two Superbowl victories!!!! :-)
